Visiting Kolimpithres Beach in Paros Greece
"Jen recommended Kolymbithres Beach, and it was so unique and lovely that we had to go there twice. Its sandy bottom and warm, calm and clear water made it perfect for my two daughters and older mother-in-law. We all marveled at the unique rock formations that jet above and into the sea. The rocks form several swimming pool-like nooks at this fun beach."

A busy morning, people waiting outside of Hippy Hippo to get a table for brunch.
Outside of Hippy Hippo Cafe

Searching for a great spot for brunch in Athens Greece? Experience the charm of Athens from one of my favorite neighborhoods Koukaki, at this popular brunch spot, Hippy Hippo. With its cute decor, interesting menu, and fun atmosphere, it’s a hotspot for locals and visitors who are lucky enough to stumble upon it. Whether you prefer your brunch in the sun or the cozy indoors, this place has got you.

Their menu features some brunch classics with a bit of flair, making it their own. From egg dishes to Nutella pancakes, and sandwiches, I am already thinking about my next visit. Oh and don't forget to check out the sweets of the day! It's easy to see if you are passing by the cafe, it's well-liked and often every table is full. But if you have to wait for a table. I would say it's well worth it!

Absofuckinglutely is stenciled on the floor of Hippy Hippo.

The inside of Hippy Hippo. The words Feeling Hippy eating like a hippo is hung up on the wall.

People sitting outside of Hippy Hippo enjoying coffee and brunch and chatting with friends.

Finding hidden gems back when there were hidden gems in Mykonos…

It’s been a while since I visited this extremely popular party island (photos are from 2012,)but I know Kiki’s Tavern still exists. And it’s likely to still be great.

Kiki’s Tavern is an outdoor eatery featuring fresh fish and meats grilled right there on their outdoor grill. They offer a wide variety of delicious cold salads to accompany your entree of choice. You dine under beautiful trees and vines and can look out at the nearby sea.

Don’t show up in the afternoon super hungry expecting to be sat right away. It’s well known and you’ve got to get in line early.

Don’t forget to check out the small beach very close by called Lover’s Beach. 💙💕

Have you been to Kiki’s? I’d love to hear about it! Send me a message jen@fortheloveofgreece.com

When traveling within Greece there are a couple of options, and many of the larger islands have small airports for easier access from Athens, Thessaloniki or in some cases, other international cities.

I think the total travel time from Athens to Paros was about 45 minutes, which ending up being about 25 minutes in the air.  It was a beautiful flight as we passed over a few islands on our way to our destination.

Are you thinking about traveling to Greece this summer? I’d love to support you. Shoot me an email, jen@fortheloveofgreece.com to learn more.

Waiting thoughtfully for my flight to Paros. 10/2023
